Have you always wanted to help others and work in a doctor's office or hospital? Consider becoming a phlebotomy technician. These technicians deal with things like blood draws. Carter's Career Center offers phlebotomy services and courses once a month in Monroe and Bossier City, LA. Between our two campuses, we offer this course 24 times a year. Classes meet on Saturdays.

What you learn during our course

Not sure what to expect when you join us for a phlebotomy course? You'll learn how to:

Collect blood samples
Label vitals for a patient
Identify patients properly
Puncture veins and draw blood
Transfer specimen samples to the lab
Choose the best method for drawing blood

After your 2 to 4 week course completion, you'll have 90 days to complete 30 blood draws and 10 finger sticks to sit for certification as a phlebotomy technician.
